Jeff Rone has been serving professionally as a choral director, worship leader, and soloist in central Ohio since 2002. He has been the Director of Vocal Music at Westland High School for ten years, where he conducts five choral groups. Choirs under Jeff’s leadership have consistently performed with great success at OMEA District and State Large Group and Solo and Ensemble Contests. While under Jeff’s direction, Westland choirs have performed in some of the most well-known performance spaces in Nashville, Gatlinburg, and New York City. His choirs have also worked with collegiate professors from Vanderbilt University, Moorehead State University, Capital University, Otterbein University, and The Ohio State University. Since Jeff began his tenure at Westland in 2004, the vocal music program has grown by 400%, and is now one of the largest vocal music programs in the South-Western City School District. In addition to his work at Westland High School, Jeff and his family love being members of Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church in Hilliard where Jeff serves as the Director of Contemporary Music. Jeff has also provided worship leader training and served as a guest worship leader for many Columbus Area and West Ohio Conference UMC events. While serving at Grove City UMC, he and his worship team had the tremendous honor of leading worship services at the 2012 and 2013 Annual Conferences of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. As a soloist, Jeff has performed throughout Central Ohio and the surrounding areas as a featured vocalist in various professional and church settings. Jeff holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Music and Vocal Performance from The Ohio State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati in Educational Leadership. He has also been blessed to receive conference and group training from some of the nation’s foremost experts in worship and worship leadership. Jeff lives in Hilliard with his beautiful wife Dawna, who is a professional violist, and their three children - Elijah, Abigail and Jacob.
